Product Description

General information
Detrol belongs to the class of drugs known as antispasmodics. It is used to treat an overactive bladder. By relaxing the muscles in the bladder, tolterodine improves your ability to control your urination. This medication helps to reduce leaking of urine, feelings of needing to urinate right away, and frequent trips to the bathroom.
Take Detrol exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The recommended starting dose for overactive bladder treatment is 2 mg twice daily, with or without food. Your doctor may recommend a lower dose (1 mg twice daily) if you experience bothersome side effects, if you have kidney or liver disease. Detrol should be taken at the same times each day.
Before taking Detrol you should talk with your doctor if you have glaucoma, digestive problems, difficulty passing urine, enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), kidney disease, kidney failure, Myasthenia gravis, liver disease, liver failure, cirrhosis, hepatitis, irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia), any allergies. This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy or cause blurred vision. Do not drive or perform tasks that require alertness. Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase some of the side effects of tolterodine.
You should not take Detrol if you are allergic to tolterodine or any of the ingredients of the medication, or if you have gastric retention (stomach obstruction), uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention. Discuss this with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
